Easter Weekend

Whew, what a busy but fun weekend. It began with Daddy having a day off and getting some yardwork done. He obviously had some help.

The boys were outside all weekend riding bikes and playing. Fun!! We also had a birthday party, dinner with friends, and celebrated Easter.

The boys had a lot of fun in search of eggs. Dylan got the hang of it and Joshua was a pro. Joshua wanted more and more treats with each egg and Poppy was there to help him. They also got a picnic table for the outside from Grandee and Poppy. They are really enjoying all of their treats. I can't wait until they understand that the real treat is what Christ did on the cross for them.

Boys of Summer

We would consider them the "Boys of Summer". At least that's the way it has felt weather wise around here without the humidity. We are absolutely loving the weather and are outside everyday as much as possible.

Dylan and Joshua decided to play in Grandee and Poppy's new water fountain. They obviously didn't stay dry. They had a blast! They really wanted to show off their fine physiques.
Dylan is starting to catch up with brother. Before too long Dylan will be climbing and sliding on his own. Boy they grow up so fast.

This week is Spring Break around here so all of the kids are out of school. It's noticeable any where you go. Kids everywhere. That doesn't stop us though. It has just given us an opportunity to spend more time with our friends. We have had the chance to go to the park, Pump It Up, and the zoo. So much fun!

There will be more fun times this weekend with a birthday party and Easter. Check us out for more pic's next week.

What a weekend

I've decided, being the busy body that I am, that I am not one to stay inside all day for more than a day at a time. I guess that's why we have a memebership to McWayne and thank goodness the weather has been warm lately. All that to say that on Friday I stayed in with the boys to work on Joshua's potty training. He finally got James (a bribe to get him to actually use the potty). He also got a matching red gumball, something he gets each time he uses the potty. He actually used it twice and we were all thrilled. Grandee and Poppy brought over some balloons and some chocolate chip/M & M cookies, which were excellent. After Joshua would finish Dylan would turn around, walk backwards, and plop himself on the potty. Dylan will hopefully pick up on it sooner than Joshua did.

On Saturday we saw another taste of snow. Scott woke up at 7 am and decided we all needed to go out and play in it. As you can tell Dylan was still a little bit tired. Joshua loved every minute of it. I really didn't want to get out in the cold. I forget that these little ones haven't had the luxury of growing up with snow like I did. Sometimes I miss it, but never the yucky everything is no longer white and you can't find a parking space. The snow didn't last too long though because the ground itself was still pretty warm. We'll take what we can get. Maybe we will make it up to Chicago to see Nanna, Papa, Joe, Jaime, Colin, and don't forget Glacier for Christmas this year. That way they will definitely get the full experience.

We're getting close

I never realized how hard it is to get someone to go to the bathroom or as little one's say "the potty". Joshua just has no desire. Hey, I'm in no real hurry. I'm just tired of buying diapers. For all we know Dylan just might beat his big bro to the potty.
Then we had a turn of events this past week. Joshua actually "tee teed" (I think this is a southern term for peeing for those of you from the north reading this) on the potty. For Christmas he was given a gumball machine and told he would get one once he used the potty. Almost 2 months later he got his first gumball. He has yet to go again, but James (the red train) is waiting for him when he does.

We actually hit in the 70's this past weekend and took full advantage of enjoying it. We spent as much time as we could outside and even ate lunch on the back porch. It was a spring teaser for us because the weather is getting cold again. That's ok. We'll take what we can get. The boys definitely love being outdoors though.
