Where has the time gone?!

Today was Joshua's last gymnastics class for the summer. It was also a time when the parents could come in to video and take pics. I did check to make sure their was enough tape on the video camera, barely. I thought I should probably also check the camera, nah! As I'm getting ready to turn on the camera it lets me know the batteries are dead. Great. I was able to get 2 pics of Joshua and they weren't even real action shots.
All that to say, I can't believe how fast the summer has gone by and how fast my little boys are growing up. Because the video camera had run out of tape, I then had to rewind it and watch it from the beginning on our tv. The tape had almost a years worth of recording on it. It was amazing to see how much they have changed and grown in that year. Joshua, Dylan, and myself sat and watched about a half hours worth. It was so much fun. It also makes me realize how important it is to have footage or pics of them. They will never be this age again. Sweet boys.

Summer Fun

I'm so glad the boys love to play outside, unfortunately it was one of the hottest days so far (99 degrees) AND we had a friend over. We pulled out the pool and had fun splashing and playing.

Jane goes to church and school with Joshua. They are best buds. They had the best time playing in the pool. They dumped water over each others heads and attempted floating in the small pool. We took a break for a snack. Dylan has discovered juice boxes ever since seeing brother drinking from them. He absolutely loves juice and any way he can get it he'll take it.

They are growing up so fast. We had to go out and buy new school shoes because their feet have grown so much. Dylan is now starting to wear some of Joshua's summer clothes. They haven't outgrown the diaper box yet so that's a good thing. I just need to keep reminding myself that they will not always be this age. I need to enjoy them even though some days can be really testing. They are a blessing!!

Chicago 2008

Sorry it has been a few weeks but things have been pretty busy around here. We got back from an extended vacation to Chicago to visit my family and now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. With Scott starting a new job (July 14th) and getting back from vacation I feel as if I have been so out of touch with everyone. All that to say, I am back.

We had a really good time in Chicago. Our travels to and from were wonderful but very tiring. We drive through the night so the boys can sleep. They did awesome. For those of you that know anything about living in the city or nearby suburbs the train is a major source of transportation. I rode it quite a bit growing up. Joshua and Dylan were able to experience it for the first time on this trip. They absolutely loved it. We were also able to go to the "Taste of Chicago", which is a huge food festival downtown and a tradition for Scott and I pre-kids. The boys did great and had alot of fun. Joshua got to ride the big ferris wheel and experience some great food. We had a great time visiting family and old friends.

The pics are : Dylan loves his blanket and travelled with it the entire car trip.
We stopped at a Cracker Barrel and the boys had fun playing.
Their first train ride, which was so much fun!!
Playing video games with cousin Colin.
Joshua and Uncle Joe getting themselves ready (resting) before a haircut.
