Mommy Told You Not To Touch

How many times have your told your little one not to touch something? I know that I loose track because there have been so many times. Now don't get me wrong, I don't wait until they get hurt but I give them at least two chances before I take action. Well, Dylan doesn't need more than one chance I'm finding out. This boy gets into everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! I know that it is normal for this age but Joshua didn't do or get into nearly as much trouble that Dylan has. Long story short, when you see that your child is trying to knock something off of the garage wall...get to them and stop them right away. Dylan knocked the hedge clippers dab smack on his forehead. Thank God that he was not hurt too bad. The blade grazed him but the handle part him hit hard. He cried for like 30 seconds and then moved on. We'll just have to see how bad the bruise looks tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Today is Scott's Birthday. Joshua was able to tell Daddy "Happy Birthday" and that he loved him this morning, Dylan not so much. That's ok because Daddy knows how much we all love him and want him to have a great day on his birthday.

Scott is great Daddy. He is very helpful to me as well as being very hands on with our boys. Our gift to him was having his electric guitar restrung and tuned. We are also going to set up some lessons after his work settles down. He hasn't played in a long time so hopefully this will give him some incentive to play. We hope he has a special day. Happy Birthday Daddy!

My 5 Addictions

I have been passed this "Fabulous" award, so now I guess I'm the lucky one who gets to share her addictions. How fun!

1. Chocolate- Can't live with out it.
2. Coke- Can't live with out that either (not Pepsi,COKE).
3. My DVR- Oh the many shows I get to watch now...when I have time (Thanks Amber).
4. Spending too much time on my computer (Email,Facebook,Blogging, etc.)
5. Organization- Just ask my husband.

I'm sure I could have come up with a few others but 5 is enough for now.

I am asking the following 5 people to share their addictions with me. I hope you will share because this is alot of fun.

A Few of Our Favorite Things

Each day is routine for me as I'm sure it is for alot of people. It's funny the things we as adults do every day, the same way, day in and day out. Well it's pretty much the same for children. My boys have their daily routine and would be lost if they didn't, I would be too. With the boys it is definitely more fun to be a part of.

This particular blog is about some of J and D's favorite things that they love and use each day in their lives right now. As they get older things will obviously change. I just wanted to share a few.

One of J's favorite things to do is play "Candyland". We usually have to play it before nap and before bedtime. It is just his thing to do. He gets really upset if we don't. I found this used board game for like a $1 at a garage sale and it is to the point of even falling apart because we play it so much. Another one of J's things is his pillow and stuffed animals. Each morning he wakes up he has to have his pillow and animals. We travel, they are with him. They are very important to him and definitely a part of his routine.

D's most favorite things are his kiki's (blankies). He wakes up and goes to bed with them. The same goes if we travel somewhere. He falls apart if he doesn't have his kiki's (so sweet, not the falling apart part). Board books have become another one of D's favorites. He is really into dinosaurs so we have to read "Dinosaur Roar" as well as Clifford and as he says it "Mouse Cookies" each night. Not one or two of the books but all three.

Finally, one of both of their favorite videos is Leap Frog Letter Factory which teaches phonics. This video definitely helps and I highly recommend it. J goes around sounding out letters and is actually putting words together. It is so much fun to listen to plus he is introducing the sounds to D.

If you or your children have any childhood favorite things or routines I would love to hear about them. Everyone has a favorite something, mine was my binky (blanket).
