My "New Night Night"

Well it is sad for me to say but Dylan is ready for the big boy bed. He really didn't have much room left to be comfortable after having some books and all of his blankets in the crib with him.
Dylan has adapted very well, knock on wood. He has yet to climb out. He gets cozy under his covers and goes to sleep, at least that is what we hope he is doing. He calls the bed his "New Night Night". My baby is growing up.
Joshua was a little skeptical because he was losing the top portion of his bunk bed. He quickly got over it when he figured out that he can now jump on his bed. What makes it even better he can jump on both beds.

Diggers

The boys have totally gotten into construction sites. Every time we see a dump truck, digger, tractor, etc. you better make mention of it. I'm surprised the workers over by the Hoover Library don't know us by name. With all the construction and digging going on we can't go a day with out having to drive by it all. It is fun to see how excited they get.

The picture tells it all. There "thing" now is to dig up mulch, put it into the dump truck, haul it off, and dump it. Daddy gets a little frustrated with all the holes in the mulch beds... but you can't deny them their fun.

Snow

The weather is just goofy around here I tell ya. Just the other day it was in the 70's and then yesterday it is in the high 30's with a good bit of snow. My guess is that we got around 3 inches. It was so pretty, great for packing and making a good snowman. It is not often that we see snow in Birmingham but we were definitely excited to play in it. The boys got bundled up and we headed outside to throw snow balls and make a snowman. Fun!! Unfortunately by that afternoon the sun came out and melted everything, so sad. It was good while it lasted.

Can You Say...Permanent Marker?!

I know I have mentioned before that Dylan tends to get into EVERYTHING!! Well I made the mistake of leaving a permanent marker on the counter. The next thing I know Joshua is calling me "Mommy, Dylan is drawing on the couch with a marker." Of course it isn't one of those clear markers but a wonderful black permanent marker. I had to recompose myself after I screamed. Sweet Dylan had no idea but he did end up spending some alone time in his crib. At least we can turn the cushions over, right? I guess everything is a blank canvas for a child.

Time With Daddy...and Mommy

I enjoy being a stay-at-home mom. I am very fortunate to be at home with my boys and I know I take that for granted at times. It just amazes me though how much I am easily distracted or tired and just don't make the time to "play". No matter what Daddy is doing he will stop and make time for the boys (granted he only has a few hours on weeknights and then on the weekends). Scott is a great Daddy and ALWAYS puts the boys before himself. He makes the time to read, wrestle, and just play.

The sweetest thing is watching Joshua each and every morning run to the door to wave good bye to Daddy as he goes to work. If Daddy doesn't wave, Mommy has to call Daddy and have him circle the block. I play tennis on Saturdays, so lately each time I leave and drive past the front of the house all of my boys are standing there waving goodbye. This shows me that they will truly miss me. The reason I say they miss me for the few hours I am gone is because as soon as I walk in the door they come running and tell me how much they miss me. So now Mommy needs to make the time because it will be gone before I know it.

Flying Planes

The boys love planes. We went to the Dollar Tree the other day and found some of these styrofoam planes. They are really cute. The boys get to put stickers on them and away they go. Of course they are not the most durable toy but they are definitely entertaining. It is actually pretty funny because Dylan had his no more than 2 minutes before he broke it. Didn't even faze him. He just kept on flying and crashing it with a broken wing. The beauty of this is that it only cost a dollar for each. So, I went ahead and stocked up and bought six more for when the time came and the the hot glue didn't work anymore. Love that Dollar Tree.

Playing Nicely Together

Today it is just a rainy and cold day. One of those days you expect to be veeerrry long. It actually wasn't. To my surprise the boys played extremely well today. They play well together on most given days but today they didn't fight, fuss, or cry. I just smiled because I could hear there little voices and they were having the best time together. I hope and pray that they will be best buds as they grow up. I love my boys!!
